Help our Red-tails
Fence off existing stands of Stringybark and Buloke and scattered paddock trees on your property, to protect from stock damage and to allow for natural regeneration.

Sightings helps us get a better understanding of the birds’ patterns of movement, which will lead to an improved knowledge of their needs.

Although we can’t guarantee you’ll see a Red-tail on the day, we’re sure you’ll enjoy a fun day out in the bush searching for our colourful cockatoos.

Kaarakin Online Auction to support sick and injured Black Cockatoos in WA
From the 21st-31st October, the Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Rehabilitation Centre is holding an online auction on a variety of items to raise much needed funds for the centre’s continuing work with Western Australian’s Black Cockatoos.

Kaarakin is a not-for-profit conservation organisation who rescues sick, injured and orphaned wild black cockatoos for rehabilitation and release throughout Western Australia. Many of the black cockatoos that arrive at the centre are those that have often been shot, hit by cars, fallen out of nests or attacked by cats, bees and other birds. Every effort is made to nurse and rehabilitate individuals back to full health, with the aim of re-releasing rescued birds back to the wild. Kaarakin also focuses on revegetation of cockatoo habitats.
Kaarakin relies on sponsorship and donations to stay open and continue its extensive conservation efforts for the Black Cockatoo in WA.
Items up for auction include a behind the scenes tour of Kaarakin, a photo session specifically for your pet, Xavier Rudd signed T-shirt/Album Packs, a range of jewellery, a Holden racing team cap signed by James Courtney and Garth Tander, a Penguin and Sea-lion Cruise, a stunning vertical canvas print of a Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo, and many more great items.
To be a part of it, please visit Kaarakin’s Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/KaarakinBlackCockatooFundraiserAuction, and get bidding on some of the great items up for auction this October. Every dollar counts so please bid generously!
Kaarakin is still looking for auction items, so if you have anything you would like to donate, or have any further questions, please email Chelle at stoneysbirds@yahoo.com. Absentee bids for those not on Facebook are welcome.
